Tell Pope Francis that he’s as cute as he can be! Cute as a button!

popI was on my way through the mountains of the parish on Communion calls, always a glorious experience carrying the Lord Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament to the shut-ins on the back ridges.

I passed by our mission church in Robbinsville. In the foreground is my 1987 Toyota 4×4, which is the best in ice and snow anywhere. It’s what one might call a Pope Francis vehicle, perhaps even more falling apart than Pope Francis could handle! ;-)

mimi 3It’s often dangerously foggy going through the way up top of the mountains. There can be some pretty bad ice and snow up top.

But then one meets one of the classiest ladies in the world, clocking in at 90 years old. She lives in one tiny room, 10 x 10 feet, with kitchenette and bath. She gave me permission to put up this picture, as she wanted to make sure that I tell Pope Francis something. I had told her about my having to go to Rome to meet the Holy Father for the Missionary of Mercy faculties. She exclaimed repeatedly that I was to tell him on her behalf:

“Pope Francis is as cute as a button!”

“Pope Francis is as cute as he can be!”

So, there you go, Pope Francis! You’ll have to give her a call and wish her a happy birthday. I’ll give you the number when I see you, or you can have the “Family” give me a call for the number.

Hi Father, I think you give too much credit to your pickup truck, and not enough to your guardian angel\. Or is it angels? With all the things that you have been involved in surely you must have a legion of Guardian Angles.

Your friend is right! Pope Francis is cute as a button! As are you, so please be very careful in the snow, ice and fog! Remember: never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly!

The great thing about Prayer is that it is never too late to pray for an intention! Because He-Who-Is, is constrained neither by time, nor space!

That’s one Hail Mary for the road, and another for “whenever.”

Please tell our dear lady friend that I concur with her opinion of our Holy Father, and she’s a pretty cute number her own self! Praying for her, and for you, as ever…

  5. Your ‘classy lady’ looks so much like a dear friend that passed away in December that I did a double take.(give her a hug for me next time you see her) Many of us agree with her. My son, Frank, (Francis) is so happy there is a Pope Frank. He says, ‘frank, Pope Frank, tells it like it is.’
