Deaconesses question to be clarified just like Amoris laetitia brought clarification

My question is this: can a biological birth gender man be a deaconess if feeling called to be a deaconess?

Oh, I got that wrong…

My question is this: can a biological birth gender woman be ordained to the one sacrament of Holy Orders which ordains a man, orders the life-being of a man unto the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the wedding of Christ Jesus to His Bride, the Church, whereby the priest is also married to the Church by the very Sacrifice he offers, so that we now have a gender bender marriage situation manifested in the Holy of Holies, the priest offering the Sacrifice of the Son of God while the deaconess in those Holy Orders helping to bring the sacrifice of the members of the body of Christ to the Sacrifice of the Head of the body?

Father, you made it so clear! Thanks for my first laugh of the day.
God Bless you. Or did I not get it?

Hah, this made me laugh out loud. What isn’t so funny is that we have apparently reached those realms of absurdity

No, a woman cannot receive any degree of the Sacrament of Holy Orders, the Church has no authority for it whatsoever, There, I saved the Church a lot of time, money and aggravation and let’s move on please Pope Francis.

Let’s all be politically correct and stop expecting people to live up to these moralistic “ideals” and gender roles – just like Jesus….

  5. My question is about Deacons per se… Are male Deacons required to be continent before assisting at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and if not, why not? This is unheard of in the history of the Latin Church. I believe Dr. Edward Peters has framed this canonically very well.

Having read the Crux version of this, http://www.cruxnow.com/cns/2016/05/12/pope-thanks-nuns-for-telling-him-theres-a-disconnect/ I don’t think we have anything to worry about.

I met an eastern rite Catholic abbot and I asked him about clerical continence and he firmly stated that was the practice for deacons and priests from early times (even if married) and that married eastern clerics who are not continent are at odds with that.

elizdelphi, from which Sui Juris church was this Abbot?

After clarifying on his blog what the International Theological Commission had to say about ‘deaconesses’ in the past who were described as ‘looking after the doors’ I did enjoy Fr Z’s comment – ‘Sort of like ecclesial bouncers.’

Didn’t I read somewhere that Pope Francis had once worked as a bouncer?

@ pelerin — I think I’d rather have seminarians with the ministry of “porter” who also have their CCW permit and are members of the NRA!

    Exactly!

can a biological birth gender woman be ordained to the one sacrament of Holy Orders…?
Sounds like a question to ask Pope Joan.

Well, we heard it here, first. Even if it was tongue in cheek.
