Flores for the Immaculate Conception (not really flowers edition, but kind of)

flores holly grapes

On the forest ridge side of our Prince of Peace mission church before the funeral the other day I spied what looks to be a miniature holly tree with grape-like fruit that surely started as flowers earlier on. In the spirit of all the confusion in the Church right now I thought I would get into the action and give our Lady some of these, you know, whatever they are (and its rather confusing) because if you tell me what they are surely mahonia aquifolium I might say “Oh, you must be wrong!” because they are way, way, way, way, way out of their territory and it’s all just too confusing as this would surely be impossible. And, really, no one would plant this where I found it…

But just like nature finds a way when the going gets tough, so too does the Holy Spirit find a way to bring us to sanctification, even in the midst of the most terrible confusion and darkness and our temptations to lack of trust that is so very far from what heaven is like. And our Lady surely does appreciate that. After all, she interceded for us, for you, for me. So, like all the flowers on this weblog, these, um… whatever they are… are also for the Immaculate Conception.
