Just do what you need to do, with Jesus’ grace, to be faithful in whatever unrepeatable circumstances that you are in. If that means that He is having you manifest His goodness and kindness for all to see with great joy, great!
If that means that you’re totally spent, that you’ve given everything, and are utterly exhausted with grief and deep sorrow, but are still pointing to the goodness and kindness of Jesus, to His Heart, that’s awesome as well. The Immaculate Conception has led the way in all this, so, be of good heart. After all, didn’t she say:
“Come, all you who pass by the way, look and see whether there is any suffering like my suffering, which has been dealt me when YHWH afflicted me on the day of his blazing wrath” (Lamentations 1:12).
You’re in good company.
Right, when I start to feel aches and pains, I think that surely Jesus felt unimaginable worse pain, so I (try to remember to) offer it up to the Poor Souls. Funny thing, a visiting priest once told us to offer pain and suffering up to the Poor Souls and it will go away. Maybe it’s subliminal suggestion but it frequently works – without the need of pharmaceuticals. Cool, huh?
They pray for you in return.
Yes, yes, Father. We pray for them and they pray for us.
There are a lot of these sturdy lilies in my neighborhood. They do point to the goodness and kindness of Jesus.
