Saint Michael: God’s first police officer

saint Michael carries police officer to heaven

All the law enforcement and firemen I know – whether Catholic or Baptist or whatever – invoke Saint Michael the Archangel. Hey! He’s all over the Sacred Scriptures! It’s a really bad idea to do some misdeed against law enforcement when they have Saint Michael looking after them. He doesn’t take it kindly when his own are dissed. I sure wouldn’t want Saint Michael angry with me.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

  1. What a reassuring picture and meditation

  2. Father, I was upset to read on another blog that a police officer in Florida shot a black man who was helping an autistic man. When the black man saw the police officer and his gun, the black man raised his hands and shouted to the officer not to shoot. He was shot anyway and while lying on the ground asked the policeman why he shot him. The policeman replied “I don’t know”.

The black man is in hospital…Thank God he did not die.

I also pray that true justice is done and due process regarding this policeman shooting a black man who had his arms in the air and pleading with the policeman not to shoot!

Yes, absolutely. This is for everyone. Due process for individuals, no generalizations. Yes.
