Homily 2018 01 24 – Impossible parable

“Oh Father George, don’t be so dramatic. ‘The Sower Went Out to Sow’ is the easiest parable ever! Jesus gives us the explanation! It’s all nice!”

Or is it that Jesus wants us to give up on our save-ourselves-neo-Pelagian-self-absorbed-Promethean-self-referrential idiocy and so instead be saved by Him so that we might be in humble thanksgiving before Him in all good friendship?

Let’s take a look again at this most easiest of all parables:

    This grateful idiot is so thankful for the looking glass you hold up…sometimes to see through, sometimes to reflect. You give such old and ever new perspectives. Thank you Father. Makes me now ponder “My yoke is easy and my burden is light”

    Yoke and burden is light because we ignore our difficult fallen human nature by being drawn to follow Jesus by His love.
