To go to the Chrism Mass yesterday was an exercise in witnessing flowers for the Immaculate Conception. Here’s a close up of the new pilgrim virgin of Fatima statue at the Cathedral ready for the requests of the parishes in the diocese. Oh, and there’s a new crucifix for the meeting room where we gathered for the meal afterward:

We have lots and lots of young enthusiastic faithful good priests in the diocese. Charlotte is really unique. I love it. Anyway, more flowers for our Lady:

I went to Chrism Mass. So many wonderful priests and seminarians. Our Cathedral burned down years ago so Chrism Mass and ordinations are at a large suburban parish. Our Chrism Mass is at 7:30pm. The evening time allows for attendance by lay people from all the parishes of the diocese that come forward (and also their priests) to get the oils. Your Chrism Mass must be mid afternoon.

Ah, the graceful, shy hellebores, ‘Lenten rose’. Every time I see them, I think of “Ours are the sufferings he bore…” from Isaiah read around now.
