“Moreover, be sure you understand well that you’re nothing special, you Missionaries of Mercy.” – Pope Francis
That’s right. What weak and sinful man can forgive sin? So, it’s all about Jesus. He’s the One. He’s the only One.

But you are special, because our Good Lord and Master, Who is beyond special, made you so. He gave you vital powers so that you can shepherd His flock of wayward sheep. You have been given the power to forgive sin. You have been given the power to bring Him to us, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the most Holy Eucharist. As a priest, you have been given incredible gifts, and bear incredible burdens. That includes his holiness. I think one reason that there are so many problems among Catholic clergy in this day and age (and throughout the entire history of the Catholic Faith, is that people forget that. It should not be a reason for snobbishness or exclusivity, but a reason for great faith and gratitude. Sorry, Father, I just got carried away. Please tell Pope Francis that he is actually very special. That is why his burdens are so great.

It is all about Jesus and his teachings to bring us closer to God.
And some teachers draw in the right direction 🙂
