Flowers for the Immaculate Conception (Is this a Catholic home? edition)

Actually, that’s a pretty good picture for just candlelight late in the evening on Thanksgiving. The neighbor to the hermitage, knowing I put up flowers for the Immaculate Conception went on the hunt for some flowers and returned with the variety. A couple of “lion’s tooth” and some other tiny ones whose names I’ve forgotten already. There’s always a candle lit on the sideboard shrine. The statue of Saint Joseph with the child Jesus comes from Father Lutz at the Jubilee Museum in Columbus, Ohio. The darkest of times are lit up in certain simply familiar ways. Don’t give up. There is much joy and peace in the faith even if there are bad actors round about.
