

These two vets are brothers, buried next to each other so many years apart. The younger brother above, the older brother below. Not the dates below. The older brother only made it until 16 years old.

It is a good and holy thing to pray for the dead, especially for those who died for you. Hail Mary…

My grandfather also joined up at 16 (born 1899). Fortunately, although wounded and temporarily blinded by gas which permanently affected his lungs, he survived WWI to return at war’s end to marry and raise a family. WWI was touted as “The War to End All Wars” but sadly that proved not to be the case. Thank God for our brave men (and boys) of every generation.
