Complimented I guess by Sheriff’s Office: You have the most boring background check ever. BÓRING! :-)

Today was the day at the Sheriff’s Office for renewing my CHP (Concealed Handgun Permit). I’ll be able to go pick up the actual card in a few weeks, just before my old one gets out-of-date at five years.

“Five years.”

What a ride these five years have been. It’s all been a learning process for the better. So many great opportunities for serving others, for sharing the faith with perhaps sometimes some that that one might think are the least likely candidates for evangelization, who turn out, of course, like clockwork, to be those most intensely interested in hearing all about the good Lord.

And, yes, with all due credit to my guardian angel and the dear Lord (who both like to work with those who appreciate being reasonable in a fallen world), the “tool” that is carried appendix has done me well, keeping me alive.

Here’s to looking forward to another five years of enjoying the 2nd amendment to the Constitution of this Constitutional Republic with the Rule of Law, of these United States of America.

These things happen when you have no background to check.
