You’ll have to figure out in your own locales just who it is that “they” are, whether individuals in Church or State, or both.

There are those in both Church and State who want priests to compromise themselves. Nope. Ain’t gonna happen. Do your worst, and then bring that before the Eternal Judge who will indeed come to judge the living and the dead and the world by fire. Amen.
