Stop singing The Battle Hymn of the Republic! Stop the abolitionists! Where’s the DOJ & FBI!

By force of circumstance racism has been weighing on my soul. The Battle Hymn of the Republic was put forward by Julia Ward Howe. It has great lyrics. It became the anthem of the Union. The first time Lincoln heard it he had to hear it twice. In one of the zillion parishes I’ve been in throughout my life I heard the Battle Hymn sung in church and a guy went bat-s**t crazy, saying that it can’t be sung ever anywhere because it was presented by an abolitionist, that being the worst thing in the world. I like the lyrics. I really do. ///

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
“As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me.
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah.
Our God is marching on.

What if the line in bold were edited a bit so that it read like this, not a great rhyme but who cares:

As He died to make men holy, let’s ensure men can be born

It fits that stanza, which speaks of Christ being born. And don’t think that such a pro-life statement is lessening the effect of anti-racism. Did you know that most all abortion clinics were placed in black neighborhoods to bring about a black genocide? Did you know that pro-lifers are saving little black babies lives? Is that racist? The Dems, those like Merrick Garland, do everything in their power, always, from the beginning, to be violently racist. Imprison those who say the Rosary! Imprison those Pro-Life Catholics! Stop the Latin Mass! It’s like the FBI and DOJ are possessed.

  1. This patriotic number always makes me tear-up. Please, God, keep marching on.
