A lady was recounting to her friend the penance she received in Confession, very happy that it was almost completed.
“Father […] gave me a Decade of the Rosary.”
Then she added:
“It’s great, because I have only one year to go!”

I love the joke about the acrobat who went into the confessional and was told to do cartwheels all the way up the aisle before saying his penance. As he was performing them two old ladies came in and one said to the other : ‘If that’s what Fr X is giving as a penance today I’m going home.’
